What's Your Limit?

Romans 12:3-8 (CSB ) - 3For by the grace   given to me, I tell everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he should think.   Instead, think sensibly, as God has distributed a measure of faith   to each one. 4Now as we have many parts in one body, and all the parts do not have the same function, 5in the same way we who are many   are one body in Christ and individually members of one another. 6According to the grace given to us, we have different gifts: If prophecy, use it according to the proportion of one’s faith; 7if service,   use it in service; if teaching, in teaching; 8if exhorting, in exhortation; giving, with generosity; leading, with diligence; showing mercy, with cheerfulness.
The main thing is, if you can’t tell the difference between a really good singer and yourself, you have no business singing. Part of it is being able to know where you are, and knowing if you can do this for real or not—just being honest with yourself. - Simon Cowell

There will be moments where there is a gap between your capacity and your calling.

Romans 12:3 (CSB) - I tell everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he should think. Instead, think sensibly…

Exodus 3:11 (CSB) - 11 But Moses asked God, “Who am I   that I should go to Pharaoh and that I should bring the Israelites out of Egypt?

People usually fall into these 2 camps: overestimating themselves and underestimating themselves.

Romans 12:3 (CSB) - God has distributed a measure of faith to each one.

The first step to finding your limit is to be honest about your capacity.

It is the realization that whatever role you have requires a corresponding reliance on God.

We can increase our faith!
2nd Corinthians 10:15 (CSB) - Our hope is that, as your faith continues to grow, our sphere of activity among you will greatly expand.

Romans 10:17 (CSB) - Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.

James 1:2-3 (CSB) - Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

ALLOW GOD TO FILL YOU
Paul is communicating is that our capacity to hold the spiritual enablement God gives us is limited according to the measure of faith we currently have.

We cannot ask God for grace that our faith cannot hold.

The grace he pours out is to empower us to make an impact on the world around us.
