James 5:13-16 13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

Matthew 7:22 "Many will come in that day and say, `Lord, Lord didn't we do many miracles in your name?' Jesus will say, `I didn't even know you.'"
1. Illness reminds us that we live in mortal world

4. Some illness is to teach us grace
When I Need Help, James Says
1. Call elders of church
He should call the elders".
2.Pray
James 5:14 “elders of the church to pray over him..."and anoint him with oil" In the name of the Lord..." And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up.
3. I need spiritual healing
James 5:15 "…and IF he has sinned, he will be forgiven."
James 5:16 "Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed."
The healing we need MOST is from sin.
"By his stripes we are healed" — 1 Peter 2:24 / Isaiah 53 — refers to SPIRITUAL healing.
He's saying sin is its OWN sickness — one that ALWAYS needs healing.
"Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it wouldn't rain and it didn't rain on the land for three and a half years. He prayed again and the heavens gave rain and the earth produced its crops."
