Here at New Life we take ministering to children seriously. We have programs that are designed to partner with parents in building faith in the next generation. We do not seek to replace the role of the parents in building faith in children, instead, it's our goal to partner with and support our families.
Here are some of the activities we offer as a part of our Kid's Ministry...
- Sunday Morning Kid's Church is for children ages K5-5th grade. We use puppets, games, crafts, music, video and Bible lessons to help reinforce your child’s Biblical understanding that’s age appropriate for them! Children are dismissed during worship service to attend Kid's Church. Our Kid's Church is staffed by loving, experienced teachers that have had background checks to insure the best and most responsible care. On communion Sundays and baptisms we will bring the children back to worship to observe or participate. Most weeks children will bring home a "Make It Stick" activity sheet from Kids Church. This sheet will have ideas and activities that you can use to further incorporate the Bible lesson from that week into your family life.
- Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a full one day event that takes place in the Summer. Themed games, crafts and songs are utilized to help Kids dig deep into God's Word.
- Other holiday or seasonal events take place quarterly or more often. Some have included a Easter Egg Hunt, a "Spread the Love" Parent's Night Out Event and a Family Fall Festival.
My name is Sarah Epting and I love working with children. My husband Tim and I have been involved in various aspects of children’s ministry for about 18 years. We currently have 4 children and are adding 2 more to our crazy bunch soon (a daughter via marriage through our adult son and a son via adoption from Vietnam). I am on staff at Arrows Academy, a hybrid homeschool academy, which allows me work with children while still having the time to homeschool our own! I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to work with the children at New Life. I love connecting with kids, and have a blast helping in Children’s church! CS Lewis once said, “Children are not a distraction from more important work. They are the most important work”. They are loved, valued, and pursued! They are never too young for a relationship with Christ, and the LORD can work in them and through them in BIG ways. My prayer is that the LORD can use us to help lay a solid foundation in the lives of the children we meet & that they will never part from it. I pray that they will always know the never-ending love of the LORD, and be a generation shining a bright light in the world.
