4 Things to know about Death:

1. DEATH IS CERTAIN

Romans 5:12  “Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned.”

Hebrews 9:27  “It is appointed…”

2. DEATH IS NOT THE END

John 11:25–26  “Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?'"

We are NOT a body that has a soul.. we ARE a soul that has a body” 

2 Corinthians 5:1  “If the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven.”

2 Corinthians 5:8 Absent from the body is to be PRESENT with the Lord.

3. DEATH BRINGS US FACE TO FACE WITH GOD

2 Corinthians 5:8–10  “We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord… For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.”

4. Death has been rendered powerless

1 Corinthians 15:54–57 "Death has been swallowed up in victory. Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? …. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

Hebrews 2:14–15  "... by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death — that is, the devil — and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death."

John 3:36  “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.”

Psalm 90:12  “So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.”
