Luke 24:2-3 "They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus."
Luke 24:2-3 "They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus"
1. WHAT MARY REALLY FOUND: HOPE
Luke 8:1-2 "Jesus was going from town to town, preaching the good news. The twelve were with him, and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases — Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had come out."
John 20:2 "They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don't know where they have put Him!"
Was her life really changed? Was her hope all gone? Was Jesus real? Was he powerful?
"Mary."
1 Peter 1:3-4 "In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade."
Some of us are like Mary - We have our “demons”
2. WHAT JOHN FOUND — PURPOSE
'DO OVER!'
John 20:8 Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed."
His Faith became his purpose for living
Something is deeply wrong in our world
3. WHAT PETER FOUND — GRACE
Luke 22:60-62 Peter replied, 'Man, I don't know what you're talking about!' Just as he was speaking, the rooster crowed. The Lord turned and looked straight at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word the Lord had spoken to him: 'Before the rooster crows today, you will disown me three times.' And he went outside and wept bitterly.
Grace
Grace impacted Peter deeply…
1 Peter 2:24-25 He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
